In today’s article, we will help to educate you further about skin booster treatment using a mesotherapy gun.

About skin boosters

Skin Boosters can be considered as the micro-injections of dermal fillers in the skin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, they are not injected beneath the skin to volumize or shape the cheek or lip area. Instead, skin boosters are injected into the skin to hydrate and improve the overall skin quality in order to make the skin look and feel better. Injectable skin boosters can be injected over large treatment areas of the face, neck, and hands to increase the skin’s hydration quality. During the treatment, the multiple injections activate the fibroblasts promoting new collagen and elastin formation thereby resulting in overall skin rejuvenation with healthy-looking, glowing and plump skin.

Type of skin boosters

The dermal fillers that are majorly used in skin booster treatments are non-stabilized hyaluronic acid. Because hyaluronic acids are hydrophilic, they attract water from surrounding tissues, further augmenting soft tissue volume beyond what is expected from product implantation alone. For this reason, hyaluronic acid fillers are often excellent choices to improve the appearance of the skin on the face, neck, décolletage, and hands.

Hyaluronic acid is also naturally produced by the body, working to lubricate the muscles and joints so that one can move without discomfort and pain. The injection of this ingredient in skin layers leads to collagen synthesis in the area that was injected. Collagen is the material responsible for increasing skin elasticity and smoothness. Since skin booster injections increase collagen production, the dermis is thickened thereby helping in the overall bio revitalization of the skin. The skin becomes smoother as compared to prior to the procedure.

Skin booster injection procedure using mesotherapy gun

To begin with, the administration of skin booster injections should be performed by a trained doctor with a sound understanding of overall physiology and adipose tissue anatomy.

The treatment area is first cleaned. A topical or local anesthetic agent is used to minimize the discomfort. An ink ‘tattoo grid’ can be applied to the area to be treated to guide the delivery of injections; this is removed with an alcohol-soaked swab after the cosmetic procedure is over.

Skin boosters are injected with the help of a mesotherapy gun. These are machines that tend to use a 9 point needle system in order to deliver a specific amount of skin booster to a specific depth of the skin. It uses suction to bring the skin to the needles to provide even distribution of the skin booster up to 1mm into the overall skin.
