In today's article, we will help to educate you further on the advantages of Liquid Rhinoplasty, which is a type of nose augmentation procedure.

About Liquid Rhinoplasty

The nose can be termed as one of the most important features of a human face. Nose augmentation which is known as rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that helps to reconstruct and improves the overall appearance of the nose. The main aim of nose augmentation or rhinoplasty is to shape a misshapen nose for an overall better aesthetic appeal. The procedure of nose augmentation involves changing the angulation of the nose, altering indentations, reshaping the tip, or correcting bumps.

A non-surgical liquid rhinoplasty also called filler rhinoplasty can be considered as one of the most common cosmetic procedures. This is due to the minimal downtime and low-risk profile associated with fillers. The procedure is almost painless takes about 10 minutes and lasts for a year. No incisions are made, but rather, the injectable filler is used to reshape the nose. Hyaluronic acid (HA) gel-based soft-tissue fillers are majorly used to augment or refine nasal irregularities. They can be easily and rapidly dissolved with hyaluronidase. Not only does this reversibility provide some level of increased safety given the potential for vascular occlusion events, but also reversible products can be dissolved if overfilling or misplaced injections occur.

To begin with, all the deformities and the intended sites of injection are marked and local anesthetic cream is applied. In order to stay safe, the aesthetic practitioner needs to inject the filler intermittently in small amounts with proper injection techniques to avoid any intravascular injection-related complications. This is crucial because when injected in the wrong plane, these fillers can cause allergic reactions, infections, and the death of skin cells. Another risk is that improper injection techniques can lead not only to swelling and lumpiness, but also to more serious side effects such as the death of skin cells, and embolism leading to blindness.

Dorsum

For nasal dorsal correction, the best approach is using small aliquots of HA-based fillers. Usually, two or three points are injected directly on the dorsum, needle directed at 45° from the dorsum, at supraperiosteal level with proper care.

Tip

Small amounts of HA injected deep into the dermis can help contour the nasal tip. The nasal tip skin must be treated with conservative volumes and constant assessment of skin perfusion to avoid potentially disastrous sequelae of nasal tip skin compromise. The needle is placed directly on the nasal tip, obliquely to the lip axis at 45°, and small volumes of HA-based fillers are injected at the intradermal or subdermal level for overall contour improvement.

Alar

Alar correction includes correction of deformities such as differences in heights of both alar or reshaping them. For alar correction, the needle is placed directly on the alar areas requiring correction, directed at an angle of 45°, and injected at an intradermal level.

After injection, the treated area should be gently massaged to help with the even distribution of fillers, thus avoiding irregularities.

Various Advantage Of Liquid Rhinoplasty

Shorter recovery time

When compared to surgical cosmetic procedures, non-surgical cosmetic procedures like liquid rhinoplasty tend to have a shorter recovery time. There’s practically no downtime required. After the procedure, normal daily activities can be resumed as soon as possible, with caution of course. This is one of the reasons why it is preferred by many people all around the world.

Easy and no side effects

After a liquid rhinoplasty procedure, the overall healing process is comfortable, fast, and generally smooth. Common side effects may include mild swelling and redness that tend to decrease over few days or even a few hours.

Fully changeable results

For any reason after the after-liquid rhinoplasty procedure, if the patient is not satisfied, the nose can easily be restored to its original state.

Modern-day hyaluronic acid-based fillers are capable of lasting for up to eighteen months at a time. The exact length of time depends on how one’s body synthesizes the acid. However, if anyone does not like the outcome of the procedure, and does not want to wait for the acid to naturally synthesize in the body, a counter injection can be given. The doctor can inject hyaluronidase, which is a compound that significantly accelerates the process of absorption. The nose will be back to its original state much more quickly.
